Engineered Dull Finish
for Galvanized Steel

Freshly galvanized steel is bright and reflective. Your customers often want a stable, matte look and a surface ready for paint or powder.

Elite AquaChem dulling chemicals are acid-based formulations designed to reduce surface shine, even out appearance, and support better coating adhesion on hot-dip galvanized components.

Why Galvanizers Trust
Our Dulling Chemicals?

Uniform Matte Finish

Our dulling range is developed to reduce brightness and help you achieve an even, matte surface on hot-dip galvanized parts, without random patchiness.

Better Coating Preparation

By combining dulling and cleaning, Aquadull products help prepare the surface for stronger, longer-lasting paint and powder adhesion in duplex systems.

Stable, Production-Ready Chemistry

Formulations are optimised for real-world galvanizing lines, supporting consistent results across varying component sizes, bath conditions, and loading patterns.

How to Use
Our Dulling Chemicals?

Integrating Aquadull products into your post-galvanizing process is straightforward and does not require major line changes.

01

Preparation

Ensure galvanized parts are free from loose ash, flux, oil, and heavy soil before dulling. Use standard water rinsing or light cleaning as per your plant practice.

02

Prepare the Dulling Bath

Charge the tank with clean water and add the selected Aquadull product to the recommended concentration, mixing until the solution is uniform.

03

Dulling Step

Immerse or spray components with Aquadull solution for the specified time, maintaining controlled temperature and contact to achieve the desired matte level.

04

Rinse and Inspect

Rinse with clean water to stop the reaction and remove residues. Inspect visually for uniform dullness and adjust time or concentration if needed.

FAQ 1

Frequently
Asked Questions

Aquadull 1950, 2000, and 2050 are used on hot-dip galvanized components to reduce shine and help deliver a uniform matte finish after galvanizing.

Dulling is a controlled surface treatment step that modifies appearance and surface condition while keeping the underlying zinc coating in place when used as directed.

Yes. Aquadull 2000 and 2050 are best where dulling is followed by paint or powder, helping to prepare the surface for improved adhesion in duplex systems.
