Acid Inhibitors

Our speciality acid inhibitors stabilize aggressive pickling baths while safeguarding stainless steel and carbon steel surfaces in demanding production lines.

Engineered Protectionfor Industrial Metal Pickling

Acid pickling is harsh on metal and even harsher on your bath stability. Control acid attack, protect metal, and reduce fumes with one best solution. Elite AquaChem acid inhibitors are designed to minimise metal loss, suppress fumes, and keep bath performance consistent over long runs.

Be it stainless steel tubes and pipes or general steel surface treatment, our low-foaming formulations deliver controlled, predictable results in every cycle.

Why Leading Steel Plants
Trust Our Acid Inhibitors?

Controlled Metal Loss

Our acid inhibitor chemicals protect base metal in aggressive baths, helping reduce weight loss and extend component life without compromising pickling speed.

Lower Fume and Safer Floors

Formulated to suppress fumes in nitric–HF and HCl/Sulphuric systems, supporting better air quality and operator comfort around pickling lines.

Process Stability

Designed for continuous production, with predictable performance in both low and high temperature acid pickling operations.

How to Use
Our Acid Inhibitors

Integrating our acid inhibitors into your existing pickling process is straightforward and requires minimal change to your current procedures.

01

Preparation

Charge the tank with the required composition of hydrochloric, sulphuric, nitric, or mixed acids as per your process and prepare the acid bath.

02

Add the Inhibitor

Dose SI 400 H or SI 400 T at 0.1–0.3% of the total bath volume while mixing, ensuring uniform distribution.

03

Run Pickling Cycle

Proceed with standard metal pickling and descaling parameters for time and temperature as defined for your steel grades.

04

Maintain and Top Up

Whenever acid is added or the bath is replenished, add inhibitor proportionally to keep protection and fume control consistent.

FAQ 1

Frequently
Asked Questions

Yes. SI 400 H is best suited for stainless steel pickling in HF–nitric systems, while SI 400 T is best for carbon steel in HCl and sulphuric acid baths.

They are formulated to protect the base metal while allowing the acid to attack scale and oxides, so you maintain effective pickling rates with better control over metal loss.

Absolutely. Our inhibitors are used across SS tubes, pipes, bars, and wire processes where metal pickling and descaling are critical steps before further treatment.
